Julien BRUNET practices intellectual property law, as well as new technologies, information and communication law. He advises and litigates in various sectors of activity (cinema, audiovisual, communication, publishing, music, personal data, new technologies).

Julien advises his clients in the legal structuring (contractual chains and financing) of film and audiovisual projects (feature films, TV series, streams, immersive works) and defends their interests in legal proceedings.

Julien has extensive expertise in new technologies and drafts commercial contracts for his clients in English and French (software licenses, GTCs, GTCs, partnership agreements). He ensures the compliance of companies, particularly in the digital sector, with the current data protection regulations, as well as with the control procedures of the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL).

Prior to joining Spring Legal, Julien worked at De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés in Paris in media law and at Orange Silicon Valley in San Francisco in new technologies.

Julien holds a doctorate in law from the University of Florence and a double degree in French and Italian business law from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, which he validated by obtaining a tesi specialistica en droit de l’audiovisuel sur « la transposition de la directive 2007/65/CE Services de Médias Audiovisuels en France et en Italie » (2010), sous la direction de Giuseppe CONTE, ancien Président du Conseil italien.

Julien holds a Master’s degree in Film and Audiovisual Law (Lyon 3, 2011) and an LL.M in Entertainment Law (UCLA, 2016).

Julien is the author of numerous articles (Revue Juris Art éditions Dalloz) and is a regular contributor to the professional journal ECRAN TOTAL, a reference for the creative industries.

Julien is a lecturer at ESSEC Business School and at La Sorbonne in the Digital Media Cinema master’s program under the direction of Nicolas Brigaud-Robert. Finally, he is involved in the professional training course “Les Nouveaux Diffuseurs” (The New Broadcasters) of the DIXIT publishing house under the direction of Pascal Lechevallier.
